Workshop on Machine learning, Data Science and AI Department of Computer Science & IT DAV College, Chandigarh Machine learning, Data Science and AI are fast emerging as the future of technology and continues to be viewed as the game-changing technologies by the think tanks of the application development industry. Machine learning, Data Science and AI have become more ingrained in the application development industry because of their abilities which allows for optimization of a variety of business operations. To enlighten and up skill the students and strengthen their technical acumen, the department of Computer Science and IT,DAV College, Chandigarh organized a one day workshop on Machine Learning, Data Science and AI on 7th November,2023. The resource people for the workshop were renowned data scientists and information and technology security experts Ms.Rusil and Mr. Bhaskar Dev Goel. The resource people described machine learning as an ability of computers to learn from data or past experience to make intelligent predictions or decisions based on data by optimizing a model with the primary goal being the development of general purpose algorithms of practical value. Using technical parlance, they described Machine Learning as a core subarea of Artificial Intelligence which has evolved from the study of pattern recognition and computational learning theory in artificial intelligence with emphasis on designing automatic methods to provide actionable, objective insight for faster, smarter decisions and stronger performance on an organization’s mission-critical priorities. They specified that the industry needs ML for tasks that are beyond human capabilities such as analysis of large and complex data sets.
